Congratulations NTHS Students!

Congratulations to JELCC's National Technical Honor Society Students!

This year, JELCC is proud to recognize 41 students as NTHS members.

JELCC's NTHS program recognizes students who maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher, demonstrate leadership, participate in service learning, and exemplify honorable character.

This week, families and students gathered at JELCC to celebrate NTHS students' academic and character achievements.

During the ceremony, Ruth Burger and Jade Winfrey shared, "The official colors of the National Technical Honor Society are purple, silver, and white.  Purple symbolizes noble and honorable acts. Silver indicates virtuous and positive thoughts.
White represents a vibrant and optimistic mind."

Mikayla Schwieger and Kathy Berryhill explained, "The insignia consist of a shield crossed by a scroll bearing the initials “NTHS” over the chest of an American bald eagle. A wreath of seven stars represents the seven attributes recognized by the National Technical Honors Society organization. The national motto for NTHS is, 'Success favors a prepared mind.'”

The following students conducted a candle lighting ceremony to recognize the 7 attributes that NTHS students embody:  leadership, citizenship, scholarship, skill, honesty, service, and responsibility.

Olivia DeSalvo, Kendall Baten, Hannah Sark, Marie Hartzell, Rachel Wise, Chris Donaldson, Terica Anthony, Patrick Daughery, Makala Schuler, Sun Light, Alejandra Sanchez, Ruth Burger, and Mikayla Schwieger

A special thank you to JELCC's Culinary Arts Students and the Light Cafe for providing refreshments!
