JELCC is currently enrolling students in AMT for the 2015-16 school year!
JELCC's new AMT class is generating a lot of excitement
among current and future JELCC students. Recently, 25 students attended AMT's Meet & Greet to learn about this new program that JELCC will offer during the 2015-2016 school year.
During AMT’s Meet & Greet, JELCC Director Shawn Wright-Browner shared,
“This program will prepare students for employment with companies that have implemented team oriented design, production, quality, and maintenance systems within the manufacturing environment.”
To prepare students for the AMT field, students will engage in project-based, problem-solution activities. AMT students will explore:
Robotics
Machining
CNC Machining
3D Printing
Other opportunities AMT students can look forward to include:
Dual Credits
Credits toward Technical
Honors Diploma
National Technical Honor
Society membership
Local Competitions
Students learned about the promising job outlook for the AMT field. Mrs. Wright-Browner explained, “With the recent announcement of the Hoosier Hot 50 Jobs and STEM being a key component for the growth of the state, we are very excited for the J. Everett Light Career Center to offer this credit.”
