Welcome future NCHS Panthers!

MSDWT 8th grades students toured JELCC this week.

Students learned about Career Technical classes that they can elect to take during their high school years.  

As students met with teachers and students they learned that when they enroll into a CTE class, they have the opportunity to:

1. Earn college credits 

2. Earn industry-recognized Certificates 

3. Join Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) & compete in state and national competitions

4. Work towards earning an Honors Diploma 

5. Join National Technical Honor Society

6. Experience hands-on learning

7. Participate in clinical experiences at job sites

7. Have FUN while learning!

Congratulations to the 100 students who were awarded JELCC's Torch-Bearer Award. This is JELCC’s premier character award! JELCC teachers nominate students who exhibit International Baccalaureate Learner Profile Traits.

 Light Cafe is located at 1901 E. 86th Street, on the east side of JELCC. As you pull into the JEL campus, go around the east side of the parking lot and follow the signs towards the back of JEL. You will see designated parking signs for the Light Cafe.

Field Day 2016

Check out pictures of this year's JELCC Field Day, an annual event devoted to celebrating career technical education! 

Field Day is an opportunity for students from JELCC's 10 different partnership schools to build friendships and participate in teamwork activities. 

Nora Elementary Garden Club

Nora Garden Club shared vegetables from their school-site garden with JELCC Culinary Arts students today. Together, these elementary and high school students prepared vegetable pasta & potato chips. What a great example of teaching & learning through teamwork!

JELCC offers a variety of quality career and technical education programs. 

Nationwide, Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs are changing, evolving, and innovating to better serve the needs of the community around us.

How will you contribute to your community and make your world a better place?

We are creating an educational environment that integrates core academics with real-world relevance, preparing students of all ages to help drive America’s success and vitality. 

J. Everett Light Career Center is proud to offer CTE programs for area high school students interested in learning in-demand skills that have practical connections to career pathways.  All of our classes include dual credit and/or certifications students can earn while they’re still in high school.

This year, JELCC is proud to recognize 90 students as NTHS members. 

JELCC's NTHS program recognizes students who maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher, demonstrate leadership, participate in service learning, and exemplify honorable character.
